After my last posting about Windows XP installation from USB Flash Disk, I tried to install Windows 7 to a netbook using USB Flash Disk too. Everything went smoothly without a problem, it seems that Windows 7 was designed to cope with netbook, which has no CD/DVD ROM.
To install Windows 7 from USB flash disk, these are the steps:
- Download and install Windows7-USB-DVD-tool, note that internet connection and reboot required to install.
- Make ISO file from Windows 7 DVD, using Nero or other application.
- Run Windows 7 USB DVD Download Tool and, select ISO file of Windows 7.
- Click Next, choose USB Device, and begin copying, just wait until copying process finished.
To install Windows 7 from USB, set boot option in BIOS to boot from USB Flash Disk, this method not only work in netbook, but also work well in ordinary PC desktop.
