How to fix Folder Options disabled by malware? This is a simple way to fix Folder Options. This kind of malware causes Folder Options unable to activate features of Do not show hidden files and folders and Show hidden files and folders. Both menus - Do not show hidden files and folders and Show hidden files and folders are checked and we can not activate each of them. If a PC is infected, its view of Folder Options will show as this following picture:

To fix this trouble, please copy this following command written in red and paste in notepad:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced\Folder\Hidden]

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced\Folder\Hidden]
"Text"="@shell32.dll,-30499"
"Type"="group"
"Bitmap"=hex(2):25,00,53,00,79,00,73,00,74,00,65,00,6d,00,52,00,6f,00,6f,00,74,\

00
"HelpID"="shell.hlp#51131"

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced\Folder\Hidden\NOHIDDEN]
"RegPath"="Software\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Explorer\\Advanced"
"Text"="@shell32.dll,-30501"
"Type"="radio"
"CheckedValue"=dword:00000002
"ValueName"="Hidden"
"DefaultValue"=dword:00000002
"HKeyRoot"=dword:80000001
"HelpID"="shell.hlp#51104"

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced\Folder\Hidden\SHOWALL]
"RegPath"="Software\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Explorer\\Advanced"
"Text"="@shell32.dll,-30500"
"Type"="radio"
"CheckedValue"=dword:00000001
"ValueName"="Hidden"
"DefaultValue"=dword:00000002
"HKeyRoot"=dword:80000001
"HelpID"="shell.hlp#51105"

After pasting in notepad, save with any name you wish with extension reg It has to have .reg extension as FolderOptionsFix.reg (type this in File Name form), then close notepad. What should we do next is running our new file with .reg extension. When Windows asked if we wish to add this registry, click Yes. That’s all, and Folder Options is fixed entirely.

I can not write details about this trouble, but if you wish please compare registry addresses above before and after running FolderOptionsFix.reg, causes of the troubles are there.
